 The search is on for Gosport's Citizen of the Year 2024
Do you know an unsung hero worthy of being crowned Gosport Citizen of the Year? If you do - get nominating!
The award, which has been running for more than 30 years, is back after a four year break. As well as looking to name our Citizen of the Year, Gosport Borough Council is also seeking under-18 nominations for Junior Citizen of the Year.
Candidates will have made a positive difference to life in Gosport, which could be running community groups or helping their neighbours or local community. We are looking for someone whose shown remarkable service to their community, voluntary sector or people outside of their family.

Nominations must be submitted by 31 March and the winners will receive their award at the annual mayor making ceremony on Wednesday 15 May.
Free business mentoring
Free advice and mentoring is available to small business owners and those considering a new business venture or going self-employed.
Gosport Borough Council has renewed its partnership with Business South to offer its Enterprise South service, which provides a wealth of support and guidance for the borough's many entrepreneurs.
It's open to people in Gosport who are either considering self-employment or in the process of starting a business, as well as current owners of small businesses looking for advice.
On offer is expert, one-to-one advice and mentoring to navigate any potential pitfalls, and help with things like planning, accessing finance, and employment and regulatory rules.
 Back by popular demand, Gosport's Events Guide is returning for 2024 - and we're giving organisers the chance to have their event included for free.
The A5, full colour brochure will appear on the Discover Gosport and Gosport Borough Council webpages and social media and will be heavily promoted, with printed copies also made available.
The guide will promote events from April to December 2024 and help families plan their school holidays, provide residents and tourists with ideas of things to visit, and help promote the many activities taking place this year.
