The Harmful Sexual Behaviour Support Service, run by SWGfL in partnership with the Marie Collins Foundation, is now available to safeguarding professionals across England and provides the tools to equip and empower practitioners to address the alarming normalisation of harmful sexual behaviour in children and young people. As case rates remain very high it has been anticipated that schools will frequently reach the threshold for reporting outbreaks of Covid-19 this term. It is recommended schools continue to report these to the DfE Helpline. Please see the Bulletin Board at the above link for information regarding the changes in process for responding to outbreaks.

The Education Outcomes and Intervention team has created a document (PDF, 304.1 KB) to summarise key information for schools regarding types of Ofsted inspection and associated timescales that have been applied from the start of the academic year 2021/22. It aims to collate information and guidance that Ofsted has published taking account of the on-going impact of COVID-19.

The Schools Forum Outcome Report from the meeting held on 13 January 2022 is now available.
Following the request for nominations for a Primary (Maintained) School Governor representative (one vacancy), one nomination was received. The nominee is therefore elected to the Forum unopposed. Representing Primary School Governors (Maintained) – Mikey Ezewudo, Cirencester Primary School. Term of office: 5 January 2022 – 31 March 2025. Primary
End of KS1 and KS2 Assessment and Moderation CPD enables Y2/Y6 teachers to undertake end of KS1/KS2 statutory assessments. Due to the demand for places, additional half day sessions are available at a cost of £60 per delegate. Please see the Bulletin Board at the above link for further information.
Secondary
The Alcohol Education Trust has been highlighting the prevalence and under reporting of drink spiking recently. UK Parliament is currently conducting a survey asking those who have had their drink spiked or witnessed drink spiking to provide information about their experience to build a clearer picture of where, when and how drink spiking is taking place. The survey is open until the end of January and is suitable for people aged 16 and over. Please email helena@alcoholeducationtrust.org if you would like to learn more.
Nominations are now open for students (11-18) to stand as a candidate in the upcoming Youth Parliament Elections to represent their peers across the county. The deadline for nominations is Monday 31 January. A workshop for prospective candidates will be held on 22 January. Further information is available on the Bulletin Board at the above link.
