Welcome

Welcome to the fourth edition of the GSPP newsletter, which follows on from World Suicide Prevention Day and the workshop held on 30th October (see below for further information). This has been issued slightly later than hoped, so apologies for the delay.

Prior to the workshop in October, there have been a few changes in personnel; mainly that Jennifer Taylor (previous Chair of the GSPP and Lead Commissioner with responsibility for the suicide prevention portfolio) has moved onto another role within Public Health.  The GSPP would like to thank her for her dedication and direction into the restructure of the Partnership and we wish her well in her new role.  Beth Bennet-Britton recently joined as a Public Health Consultant and has taken over the role of Chair of the GSPP. The new GP Lead, Dr Nicola Pocket, has also started in her new role and we will be hearing updates from her in the future on her work supporting GP practices in suicide prevention. We welcome Beth and Nicola in their new roles.
