Flintshire County Council has joined forces with local company Outwrite PR to promote local businesses as we ease out of lockdown.

The past year has been incredibly difficult for all of us, but no more so than town centre businesses, local food and drink producers and the hospitality and tourism sectors.

We have some fantastic local businesses in our area and many have already been thanking communities for their help over the last 12 months. They also want to encourage residents to carry on supporting the local economy.

Ysgol Glanrafon new extension hits major milestone

Staff and pupils have signed their names into the annals of one of Mold’s primary schools, as a major stage of the new extension is completed and part of the redevelopment starts to take shape.

Pupils and staff at Ysgol Glanrafon, along with members of Flintshire County Council, have written their names onto a number of the structured insulated panels (SIPs) which will make up the £4m extension and remodelling scheme being built by Wynne Construction.

Flintshire’s market traders on the up as the end of the pandemic comes onto the horizon

Offering an entirely different shopping experience to the supermarkets, a whole new generation has been getting to know Flintshire’s markets as lockdown begins to ease and people look to support local and independent traders.

Stallholders in Holywell and Mold have reported a rise in customers as restrictions reduce, particularly among younger people.

And with the markets having been a lifeline for many by offering a less busy and more relaxed experience, it is hoped this can continue as the world opens back up and enable traders to flourish.

Love Lane Car Boot re-opens

The car boot sale held at Love Lane Car Park, Mold will open again on Sunday 30 May between 6am and 1pm. They will then continue every Sunday throughout the year. There is a charge of £6 cars / £10 vans. There is no need to book, you can just turn up on the day.  There will be a hand sanitiser station on site and social distancing signs in place.
