Do you live in East Sussex? If so, please tell us which community safety issues are most important to you.
By completing this survey you can help us understand:
- residents’ experiences of crime and anti-social behaviour in East Sussex, and
- what you feel the most important safety issues are.
This feedback will be used alongside information from organisations working to keep communities safe in East Sussex, local and national data, and policy guidance, to carry out the annual refresh of the East Sussex Safer Communities Partnership 3-year business plan.
The survey takes roughly 5 minutes to complete.

The Ben Kinsella Trust offers online training and workshops to help keep young people safe.
These sessions will cover vital topics around youth violence, exploitation, and how to have conversations about difficult topics. Let’s work together to make a difference.
A person’s home should be a place where they feel safe and secure. When a home is taken over and used for criminal activity this causes significant harm to the resident. This is known as 'cuckooing'.
If you suspect a property is being cuckooed call 101, or in an emergency call 999. To report information anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

There has been a lot of discussion about Prevent in the media recently. Prevent is a safeguarding process that everyone should know about. We want to work together to keep our community as safe as possible, and we need the help of the public to do this.
The Safer East Sussex Team provides training and resources that help to protect young people and adults from radicalisation as part of the Prevent Duty. Visit Preventing violent extremism | Safe in East Sussex to find out more.
To learn more about Prevent, you can visit the Act Early website and help to keep everyone in the community safe. If you see or hear something suspicious, trust your instincts and ACT. Report it, your actions can save lives.

Read our ‘Spot the signs of elder abuse’ article, which also includes information about how to report concerns and seek support.
Everyone deserves respect at work. That’s why East Sussex County Council is proud to support White Ribbon’s Right to Respect campaign this June.
With new laws like the Worker Protection Act 2023, employers must now take steps to prevent sexual harassment before it happens—not just respond after the fact.
Sadly, research shows that 3 in 5 women have faced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work. That’s not okay. At ESCC, we believe the only acceptable number is zero.
We’re committed to creating a safe, respectful workplace for everyone. Learn more about the campaign and how you can help at White Ribbon.
