Are you looking for things to do during the May School Holiday with your family? 

We have rounded up a few of the events, activities and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) sessions taking place over East Sussex.

East Sussex Libraries - Elmer Themed Craft and Storytime Events

Join East Sussex Library and Information Service this May half term to celebrate 35 years of the beloved book character, Elmer! 🐘

Get ready for a fun-filled day with a classic Elmer story read aloud and a craft activity to make your very own Elmer to take home! 📚🎨

Sessions are perfect for children aged 3+, little ones under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 👶👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

This event is FREE, but spaces are limited, so be sure to book your spot.

Eastbourne - Defiant Sports, Carnival Party

Defiant Sports Carnival Party

Defiant Sports offer lots of SEND activities including Boccia, Kurling, Basketball, Tennis, Socials and more!

They are also hosting tennis at the FREE Defiant Sports Carnival Party! 🎉

🕜 12:00pm to 3:00pm

Enjoy a free afternoon out filled with active and sporty fun, a bouncy castle for £2 per person, and meet Dunk the Defiant Lion. 🏰🦁

Board Games

The Amazing Futures Board Game Café Group hold sessions that are specifically designed for young people with SEND.

The FREE group is the perfect place to bond over a shared interest, play a wide range of board games (even rare or older ones!), and enjoy the supportive and inclusive atmosphere. 🎲

Hailsham - Relaxed Inclusive Screening - Kung Fu Panda 4

Hailsham Pavilion

Join Aspens Charity at Hailsham Pavilion for a SEND family cinema screening of Kung Fu Panda this May half-term! 🎬🍿

This event is open to families who live in the East Sussex area.

CLASS+ Parent and Carer Support Sessions

CLASS+

CLASS+ (Communication, Learning and Autism Support Service) offer sessions for parents and carers of an autistic child or a child who is on the autism pathway.

Sessions allow you to listen, share questions, ideas and experiences with other parents and carers. ☕

💻 The East Sussex Local Offer website provides all upcoming dates and times for CLASS+ sessions.

You do not need to book to attend these events, you can just turn up. Do not worry if you cannot get there for the start of the session. You can drop in at any time!

NHS Epilepsy Survey

NHS Survey

NHS Sussex’s Children’s Physical Health team are looking for feedback from children and young people (and their parents/carers) who use children’s epilepsy services in Sussex. This feedback will help shape an improvement plan in response to recent NHS England recommendations.

If you are a young person (up to age 25) with epilepsy, or the parent/carer of a child or young person who currently uses epilepsy services, they would like to hear from you. For more information and to be invited to complete future surveys and/or attend a focus group, please email sxicb.cyp-voice@nhs.net
