 Calling all East Sussex residents, release your inner ornithologist because the Big Garden Bird Watch is back! Simply choose one hour this weekend, between Friday 27 January and Sunday 29 January, to count the birds you see landing on your patch. Taking part is free, fun and for everyone. Your Birdwatch results help the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) monitor how our UK birds are faring in the face of the nature and climate emergency. But they need our support to gather some data!

 Congratulations to our very own Matt Weston who struck gold for the second time this season in the world cup for the winter sport of skeleton. The 25-year-old from Crowborough still has two events to come in February in Austria and Latvia, so we wish him luck and take a look at his relatively recent rise to the top of this dangerous yet exhilarating sport.

Extensive ecological work to begin ahead of new bridge
Work has begun to ensure a new bridge at Exceat is constructed sensitively, after plans were given the green light. South Downs National Park Authority’s approved of East Sussex County Council’s proposal to replace the ageing one-lane bridge, with conditions in place to protect the natural landscape. One You East Sussex helps residents to eat well, manage their weight, move more, quit smoking and drink less. The contract for the service ends in March 2024 and they are thinking about changing the future service model.
