Stories teach us about the world, they allow us to step into someone else’s shoes and feel empathy, they help us to relax and to escape. National Storytelling Week is a celebration of the power of sharing stories.
We have weekly Storytimes in our libraries for families to enjoy, but Storytelling is not just for children; we also have creative writing workshops, author events, and lo-fi theatre maker Jonny Fluffypunk!
Come to one of our regular Rhymetimes and Storytimes at your library.
Rhymetimes are an opportunity to meet other families, sing and enjoy a story. They are great for your child’s speech and language and have a positive effect on the mood and mental wellbeing of parents and carers.
Are you interested in running a Rhymetime or Storytime at your local library? We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate sessions.
