East Sussex County Council would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you for the compassion and kindness you have shown to our Ukrainian guests over the past six months.
To say thank you, East Sussex County Council has taken the decision to increase the monthly payments payable to hosts to thank them for their continued kindness and generosity and to reflect the increased costs people are facing during the current economic crisis.
The monthly thank you payments for all hosts will increase by £150 per month, for six months from October 2022 to March 2023. The increase will apply county wide and be payable to both existing and new hosts. The payments will be administered by your District or Borough and will be processed as soon as possible from November 1st.
In addition, for those hosts who reach 12 months of consecutive hosting, you will receive an additional one-off payment of £1,000 to thank you for that commitment and support to your guests.
Where possible we hope that hosts can continue to offer their homes and their support, and we hope that the enhanced payments over the winter will help with this.

Please remember that we ask all hosts to update our online form twice only.
First - When you give us details of everyone aged 16 or over in your household so we can carry out safety checks
Second - please use the form to tell us when your guests arrive. This will help us speed up payments and services that are due.
You only need to do each of these steps once. If you've already updated the form, you do not need to do it again - thank you.
This newsletter is sent to every host (sponsor) in East Sussex who is part of Homes for Ukraine to keep you updated. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We expect to send you a further update next week. Until then, we'd like to wish you all an enjoyable weekend.
