For many Ukrainians being hosted in East Sussex, it will take time to be ready to move on, so where possible we hope that hosts can continue to offer their homes and their support for longer than the minimum of 6 months.
For those hosting on the Homes for Ukraine scheme, monthly support payments will continue for up to 12 months to help you continue supporting your quests.
We know that many of you are planning to continue hosting your guests beyond six months, however, where this is not possible, please get in touch at 馃摡聽ukraine@eastsussex.gov.uk and let us know what support you need.
The Homes for Ukraine programme has been working with Brighton Housing Trust to support聽guest / host arrangements and relationships to continue for at least six months and longer where possible.
Guests referred to the service will be supported by a Support Worker, with help aimed at preventing a breakdown in the arrangement.
Support Workers will also help guests to live independently when they leave the host accommodation. This will be through:
|
|
|
- longer-term accommodation
- health and community services
- employment and educational opportunities
This will be through the provision of workshops (delivered remotely and in-person) and resources, currently being developed and finalised.
We will provide regular updates from the service in the coming weeks and months so you know when it will be available and how to access the support.
