Tens of thousands of Ukrainians have been welcomed to Britain – but nowhere more so than in the leafy town of Crowborough, East Sussex, according to a recent article.
Ukrainian guests have shared their experiences with East Sussex hosts, speaking of "overwhelming English hospitality and kindness".
East Sussex County Council would like to take this chance to extend our greatest thanks to all of you hosting in East Sussex for your ongoing support and kindness to our Ukrainian guests.

Guidance for guests' living arrangements 4 to 6 months after moving to the UK is now available on the government website.
We encourage guests to talk to their host about their future plans four months after their arrival in the UK, to give them plenty of time to decide and prepare for their next steps.
There is also guidance for hosts four to six months into your sponsorship arrangement.
This information will be regularly updated.
The entry stamp your guest received on entry into the UK provides evidence of their right to stay in the UK but is valid for the first 6 months only. To extend their stay for up to the 3 years allowed under the Homes for Ukraine scheme, they will need to apply for a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).
This will require them to provide biometric information, including a photograph of their face and a sample of their fingerprints.
If they do not do this, they will lose their right to live and work in the UK and any benefit payments they are receiving will stop.
If you are an employer who needs to view an applicants right to work in the UK, you can do so here.
Guests can apply for their Biometric Residence Permit here. 👇

Together with its residents and partners, East Sussex County Council is developing a long-term strategy for adult social care.
To understand what really matters to local people, the adult social care team has created an online survey.
The team is keen to hear from:
- People aged 16+ who need care and support
- Unpaid carers
- Families of people who need care and support
- Those who are ‘seldom heard’, including adults who may need care and support in the future
This survey is the starting point for creating a strategy that will set the direction of adult social care for everyone who has – or will have – care and support needs within the county, the projects and services that support them and their carers and families.
The survey is open now and will close on 18 September 2022.
Completing the survey also brings a chance to win one of four Love2Shop vouchers, each worth £25.
Police exist to protect the public, their rights and the law. They are there to help and assist you and you should not be afraid to approach them. You or your guest can contact them if you are the victim of a crime, see a crime happening, or for general assistance. They will also have access to interpreters if your guest needs one.
For more information on policing, their duties and information on how to contact the police, view the guide below.
