We're contacting you to let you know about some important changes to the training currently on offer through the East Sussex Learning Portal. (Our records show you’ve used the portal in the past to arrange training or follow online courses).
What's changing?
The portal will not be continuing beyond the end of August as our providers are no longer able to offer the service. We’re making other arrangements to provide courses and online learning.
We will securely store any data the portal holds about your course attendance and online learning.
If you have courses booked through the current portal, these will still be provided wherever possible. Unfortunately, some training will have to be cancelled or postponed because of this unexpected news. We will contact anyone this affects to make new arrangements (or arrange refunds where appropriate).
We would advise you not to book new courses on the portal during August. We will look at the option for appointing a new provider for the East Sussex Learning Portal.
Next steps
In the meantime, we are developing an interim home for training and e-learning courses. You’ll be able to find courses, and make bookings, on the ESCC website. You’ll also be re-directed from the current portal East Sussex (eastsussexlearning.org.uk)
The interim training site and booking system will be in place before the current portal is taken out of commission so there should be no break in service.
We expect the interim site to offer just the most essential training initially and not the full range of courses now on the portal. However, this will develop, with new training added regularly.
Most of the current e-learning packages will remain available.
Our apologies
We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause. We did not expect our provider to close the current portal and we are working hard to make other arrangements. Please do not contact us regarding training records over the summer unless they are urgently needed for inspection by official bodies.
We will use our website and contact lists to keep you updated over coming weeks.
