More than 600 host families across East Sussex have welcomed those fleeing the war in Ukraine into their homes. 1,000 Ukrainian guests have settled in the county since the launch of the government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme in March.
Since the start of the war, many Ukrainians have fled with few possessions, leaving behind family and friends not knowing when they will be able to return.
Two Ukrainian families, and their hosts, tell their stories.
East Sussex County Council now has a range of roles available that will enable you to make a difference to the lives of local people on a daily basis – whether this is teaching children, caring for the elderly, registering births or protecting our environment.
We welcome Ukrainian guests to apply. They can search our available jobs now 👇

Please remember that we ask all hosts to update our online form twice only.
First - When you give us details of everyone aged 16 or over in your household so we can carry out safety checks
Second - please use the form to tell us when your guests arrive. This will help us speed up payments and services that are due.
You only need to do each of these steps once. If you've already updated the form, you do not need to do it again - thank you.
This newsletter is sent to every host (sponsor) in East Sussex who is part of Homes for Ukraine to keep you updated. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We expect to send you a further update next week. Until then, we'd like to wish you all an enjoyable weekend.
