The UK government has recently updated its website with information around paying tax in the UK and how our guests can claim relief if they are taxed in the UK and Ukraine.

Citizens Advice in East Sussex are now able to provide support to Homes for Ukraine guests who are struggling to buy food and essential items.
Homes for Ukraine guests can contact their local Citizens Advice and apply for a food voucher, and small grant to cover wider essentials such phone costs, clothing costs and essential transport costs.
This CA support is funded by the DWP Household Support Fund. They can contact their local CA for more information.
A ‘Ukrainians Welcome’ event next week will bring together the organisations, voluntary groups and host families involved in Eastbourne’s emergency response to support people fleeing their war-torn country.
The event at 📍 the Town Hall between 🕓 1pm and 5pm on Monday, July 18, is also open to families who are considering offering a home to Ukrainian refugees and wish to learn more and voluntary groups that may be able to help.
Our guests will have suffered significant loss and may be struggling to adapt to their move. They may have suffered physical injuries and been through difficult and traumatic experiences.
We have provided a useful resource to help them understand what they might be struggling with and how they can access our National Health Service (NHS) for help. These services are free.

Guest arrivals by borough and district in East Sussex
Latest figures show that at 1,095 guests have arrived in East Sussex under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. Our thanks to every host and every community making our guests welcome.
The guests are at 473 different properties across the county. More than 317 school places have been allocated to Ukrainian children.
The figures suggest we can expect more than 1,583 Ukrainians to come to East Sussex in total, meaning the county has received over 69% of our number of anticipated arrivals.
