Libraries have so much to offer

Eastbourne Library bookshelves

All our libraries are open and back to regular opening hours.  You can now visit a library to browse books, read the newspaper, use a computer, study, research local history or just sit back and unwind.

It’s been lovely welcoming you back over the summer and we thank you for continuing to look after yourselves and each other by wearing a face covering.

Don’t forget our eLibrary is always available, we have 1000s of newspapers, magazines, comics, audiobooks and of course eBooks.

Keep in touch with the library community on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Reading Group Day

Reading Group

September 14 is National Reading Group Day.  Being in a shared reading group is linked to enhanced relaxation, calmness and quality of life.  It’s a great way of reading more and enjoying books you would never have chosen!

If you are already in a reading group we can help, the Library has over 1000 dedicated book sets for your exclusive use.

Find out more about our Reading Group offer.

If you prefer eReading we have our Online Bookclub, we want all of East Sussex to read the gripping Skin and Bones by Tom Bale, and tell what you thought of it on the Library Facebook page.

Summer Reading Challenge

Congratulations to everybody who took part in the Summer Reading Challenge! This summer 4860 children challenged themselves to read six books.

Throughout East Sussex young people have visited the library and participated in writing and illustrating workshops, sing-along stories and encountered talking trees! If you haven’t collected your prizes yet there is still time, just pop in to your local library.

If you wanted your child to receive their certificate in school, then log in to your library account and fill in the details. Forgot your PIN? You can request a PIN reset here.
