With more than 45 miles of beautiful coastline in East Sussex, it’s essential both locals and visitors know the importance of beach and water safety. Residents are being encouraged to have their say ahead of the development of a new Bus Service Improvement Plan by completing the online survey launched last week. You can complete the survey here. It will remain open until Tuesday, 14 September.
Remembering without stigma
On 31 August, local drug and alcohol support services are coming together to mark International Overdose Awareness Day at an event in Hastings. They will support the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. Emissions drop as climate efforts continue
Environmental efforts have seen East Sussex County Council cut its carbon emissions by more than 60% since 2008 – equivalent to the annual energy use of more than 7,000 residents. Whilst the achievement has helped the authority reach its ambitious 2020/21 target, work continues to become carbon neutral by 2050 at the latest. The council, working with a range of health, care and voluntary sector partners, is conducting a needs assessment for local LGBTQ+ communities. People are encouraged have their say about their experiences of health, accessing local services and the impact of Covid-19 through an online survey to help improve services locally.
