Library events are free but must be booked in advance. All our events are suitable for children aged 7 and over (children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.)

Sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge and book an event on our website, or call 0345 60 80 196.

The East Sussex Online Bookclub

Skin and Bones Tom Bale

The East Sussex Online Bookclub has returned for the Summer.

A nightmare awaits in a sleepy Sussex village. A deranged young man goes on the rampage. He is characterised as a ‘loner’ and ‘misfit’ before the media moves on to the next obsession.

But survivor Julia Trent thinks there is more to the story, what she finds are all the elements of a crackling thriller: greed, envy, corruption, revenge, ties to the grey hinterland where business mixes uneasily with crime, and dark family secrets.

This book is available on Libby/Overdrive, until the end of September, with no waits and no holds.

No PIN? No Problem.

With your library card and PIN you can reserve and renew your books, download eBooks and eAudio, make SaveLists, write reviews and sign-up for the Summer Reading Challenge.

Library Amnesty

Pile of books

This summer is a great chance to help your friends and neighbours return their library books. There are no charges for outstanding books, and if a book has been on loan for a long time, then we really need it back to offer to everybody else.

If you aren’t sure what you have on loan you can visit our website to check your account, talk with the staff in your local library, or call 0345 60 80 196.

Welcome back...

Woman in facemask

We know many of you have recently begun to return to the library. We’re thrilled to welcome you back! We are very keen to ensure that our service remains operational, and everyone remains safe. To do this we urge our customers to continue to wear a face covering, unless exempt.

We look forward to seeing you in a library soon!

A book I have loved...

Holiday by T M Logan

Audiobook ‘The Holiday’ by T.M. Logan, is exclusive to BorrowBox.

Seven days. Three families. One killer.

Four best friends and their husbands and children in a luxurious villa under the blazing sunshine. But there is trouble in paradise. Kate suspects that her husband is having an affair, and that the other woman is one of her best friends.

A perfect summer read. Let’s just hope your own holiday doesn’t end quite like this one! Chosen and loved by Richard.

This month's quote is from the novel A Line Made by Walking by Sara Baume.
