Select + Collect

Select and Collect

You can now order books for collection at one of our open libraries. Choose to have books picked by library staff, you can request up to 15 items. Just tell us what kind of books you want to read.

At this time, we are unable to provide specific titles so please let us know the genres or subjects you would like, for example crime or cookery.

Let us know if you would like paperback books, audiobooks or large print books and don't forget to tell us which library you want to collect from!

If you have an email address set up in your account, we'll send you an email to let you know they are ready. Otherwise, please allow 5 working days between your order and visiting the library to collect your books.

More information about Select + Collect can be found here.

Five Libraries Open

Face Covering

Battle, Hastings, Eastbourne, Newhaven and Crowborough libraries are now open.

In line with Government guidance we are asking all our customers to wear face coverings when they visit the library.

Please follow instructions from staff to keep everyone safe. We are limiting numbers and requesting that you use hand sanitizer at the entrance and follow signs. We have increased cleaning and are quarantining returned books.

We will ask you for your name and phone number at the time you go into the library. This information may be shared with the NHS Test and Trace programme if needed.

This is not a full library service so we’d still encourage people to continue to use our eLibrary and our Select + Collect service if they can.

Anything borrowed can be kept until 30 September.

We hope to open more libraries and increase the range of services on offer later in the summer and autumn.  We will keep you updated.

Help us make the Bookclub better

Survey

Back in March we launched our first ever East Sussex Online Bookclub.  We offered you the opportunity to read Sheila Bugler’s I Could Be You with no waits and no holds.  There was also an opportunity to ask the author questions, culminating in an online Q&A.

Over 1,000 people borrowed the first East Sussex Bookclub choice,  Sheila Bugler's I Could Be You !

We would love you to have your say to influence future Bookclub books, tell us what you would like to read.
