Get Set Club: Fun, Educational Activities for SEND Children and Young People

Child playing with lego blocks

It is so important to reach children with SEND and their families, as in the community they can sometimes feel isolated and can find it hard to find appropriate weekly activities which provide a safe and welcoming environment, not only for the young person but for their parents as well.”

Get Set Club has done amazing work with the local community to offer opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Lewes and the surrounding area.

The club has great ambitions to grow so read about what they do on Go Set Club’s website here or contact Anna Jones for more information at anna.jones@waveleisure.co.uk.

New i-Rock Locations Offer Mental Health Support for Young People

i-Rock Newhaven Launch Event where mental health and well-being support is offered to all young people

Following three years of successful community outreach at the i-Rock Hastings location, the organisation is excited to expand their reach to the Eastbourne and Newhaven communities.

The organisation held two launch events on October 10, which was also World Mental Health Day, to celebrate there new drop-in locations in East Sussex.

The new locations will allow young people to drop-in for resources and advice in supporting their mental health. The organisation offers each individual 4 sessions that are 1:2:1 and, if needed, will direct them to further resources and services to use.

The i-Rock team work with every type of young person, but mentioned that they have seen a variety of SEND pupils who have sought support during times of transition, diagnosis and other changing times that may pose challenges.

The Newhaven location is open on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, while the Eastbourne location is open Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both locations are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a drop-in basis, but visitors are able to also schedule an appointment ahead of time.

For more information visit i-Rock's website or contact the i-Rock team at irocknewhaven@gmail.com or irockeastbourne@gmail.com.
