October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month
As part of our support for Domestic Abuse Awareness Month this October, five of our refuse vehicles have been installed with advertising panels, encouraging victims of domestic violence and abuse, to come forward and receive support.
The vehicles will cover the whole of the East Riding, including in rural areas where victims may be more isolated.

Volunteer drivers sought for Beverley community minibuses
Do you have spare time to help older people, those with disabilities and residents living in rural, isolated areas travel to essential appointments, go shopping and go for days out? Anyone interested in getting behind the wheel is invited to a taster session on Saturday 10 October 2026 at Beverley Enterprise Centre, Beckview Road, Beverley, from 9am-12pm, where they can find out more about becoming a volunteer, chat with current volunteers and give minibus driving a go.

Council Tax Support Scheme Consultation
We are reviewing our Council Tax Support Scheme and want your views on the proposed changes. Council Tax Support helps people on low incomes pay their Council Tax. We are thinking about changing the scheme for working-age customers only and we want to know what you think before any decision is made. These proposals do not affect pension-age customers.
