More roads to be included in successful streetlight project
A ground-breaking national project led by the council, aiming to cut energy and carbon emissions in street lighting along roads has proved a big success and is now being rolled out across the area.
The council has now identified a further 54 sites on A roads across the East Riding - not residential roads - which could see lights being switched off, and alternatives installed such as brighter white lines and pedestrian-only lighting.
Residents can track their health at libraries and leisure centres
East Riding Library and East Riding Leisure members can access free Boditrax body composition scans at libraries and leisure centres as part of a Public Health commissioned initiative designed to help people better understand and improve their health.
The Boditrax scanner provides a comprehensive snapshot of an individual's health in just 30 seconds, delivering 15 different body composition measurements. These include body fat percentage, muscle mass, visceral fat, hydration levels and metabolic age, offering much greater insight than standard scales alone.
