New easy pay system on East Yorkshire Buses
A new easier way to pay for fares is being introduced on buses in the East Riding, thanks in part to council funding.
East Yorkshire Buses has installed the Tap On, Tap Off technology to its entire fleet of buses. You simply tap your contactless card, smartphone or smartwatch with pay against the driver's ticket machine when you board, then tap off against a reader fitted near the exit door as you get off. There is no need to tell the driver where you are travelling to or what ticket you want.

The aim of the review is to ensure the current polling districts and stations are appropriate for the areas that they cover, that all electors have reasonable and practicable facilities for voting and that, as far as is reasonable and practicable, polling places are accessible to all electors, including those who are disabled.
Online safety resources available as school holidays begin
East Riding’s Safeguarding Children Partnership (ERSCP) is raising awareness of how parents can help keep children safe online.
ERSCP has webpages with information for parents and carers to help them address potential dangers online. Skips Safety Net is another resource that provides advice about things like social media, sharing pictures, gaming, live streaming, grooming, fake news and privacy settings.
The information has been endorsed by the Home Office and is available online, or in workbooks which can be ordered through the website.
