Share your views on our Children’s Centres and Family Hubs
 We would like to hear from you about Children’s Centres and Family Hubs and the support they provide. The consultation has launched to understand which centres families are using, the support and activities they use and where improvements to the offer can be made. The consultation also asks about a proposal to use community venues, such as schools and church halls, to deliver some of the services.
Electric vehicle event happening this weekend
 The Let’s Go Electric! event will take place this Saturday 20 June, from 10am-3pm, at the Priory Park and Ride site. The event will allow you to explore some of the benefits of EV adoption as well as other sustainable transport solutions. There will be a chance to test drive the vehicles. Test drives will be approximately 10 minutes long, with a designated route for drivers to follow, before returning to the EV pick-up area.
Infant Feeding Service retains Gold Baby Friendly award as breastfeeding rates increase
 East Riding Infant Feeding Service has been awarded the UNICEF UK Gold Baby Friendly award. The UNICEF assessment highlighted good practice through projects including the Breastfeeding Milestone cards, Thank-you for Breastfeeding Out and About cards, Staff Flash Cards, Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme and the ‘Is It Normal campaign’, as well as celebrating breastfeeding through local and national events such as Breastfeeding in Public Day and World Breastfeeding Week.
Explore the North York Moors with Moorsbus this summer
 The popular Moorsbus service has returned for 2026, giving you the chance to enjoy the North York Moors, following a successful run last year.
The M1 is a return service to the North York Moors and departs from Bay 23 at Hull Paragon Interchange, at 8.45am, stopping and picking up from Cottingham, Beverley, Driffield, Wetwang, Malton and Pickering. The M3 service then runs to the North York Moors via Kirkbymoorside, Hutton Le Hole and Danby.
For the return journey, you can use the M3 to get back to Pickering, with the M1 service starting its journey back to Hull, at 4.45pm, and getting back to Hull Paragon Interchange for 7.03pm.

Youth Justice Manager recognised for exceptional work with victims
 Sophie Rollo from East Riding Youth Justice Service has been awarded a commendation from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in recognition of her exceptional work transforming support for victims of crime.
Sophie has been recognised for creating a service where victims feel heard, supported, and confident to come forward, through her compassionate, trauma-informed approach. She has also helped children to truly understand the impact of their actions, promoting accountability and lasting change.
