Families recieve primary school place offers
 On Thursday 16 April, parents and carers across the East Riding received confirmation of the primary or infant school place allocated to their child for September 2026.
This year, 95 per cent of children have been offered a place at their first choice of school, with 99 per cent of families receiving an offer for one of their three preferred schools.
Goole Library to receive £450,000 refurbishment
 Goole Library is to receive a refurbishment, due to funding secured from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Improvement works are expected to begin in 2027 and will build on the legacy of the Goole Bicentenary. There will be a public consultation, to gather public feedback on the improvements.
Exhibition and workshop coming to Lelley Fields Crematorium
 The one-day event, titled Projecting Grief, will be held at the Lelley Fields Crematorium in Sproatley Road on Saturday 25 April, between 11am and 4pm. The exhibition will share a selection of moving photographs and stories about grief, creativity and hope, from people who have found comfort, distraction or connection through creative expression after losing someone. Members of the Lelley Fields team will also be available throughout the day to chat about the services on offer.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year returns to Sewerby Hall and Gardens next month
