Last chance for working households to claim £250 support
 The fund closes today, Friday 27 February, so this is the final chance to apply.
If you’re working and your household income is under £28k–£33k, you may still be able to receive a one‑off £250 payment from the Household Support Fund.
This support is for people who may not receive means‑tested benefits but are still finding it difficult to cover essential daily living costs.
The payment can help with:
- food and supermarket essentials
- energy and heating bills
- other essential household costs
Funded by the UK Government.
Carbon monoxide advice
 Along with partners in health and fire and rescue we are providing advice about carbon monoxide.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include a headache, dizziness, feeling sick or being sick, feeling weak, tiredness and confusion, chest and muscle pain, shortness of breath, loss of vision, your face turning hot and red.
Mobile Adult Learning Centre to tour East Riding towns
 The centre, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) brings learning facilities directly to the community, enhancing education delivery in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The bespoke classroom, fitted into the bus, offers a unique learning environment, the first of its kind in the region.
Road improvement scheme started in Walkington
 We have invested £800,000 to upgrade Wold Road between Walkington Heads and the B1230 Hunsley Road, which started on Monday, 23 February. The work will involve resurfacing the road by recycling the existing material to create a new foundation layer, over which a new road surface will be laid.The work is due to take between eight and 10 weeks to complete, weather permitting, and the road will be closed to traffic during that time.
LGBTQ+ Adoption and Fostering Week
 LGBTQ+ Adoption and Fostering Week launches on Monday 2 March and aims to inspire the LGBTQ+ community to explore adoption and fostering as routes to building their family.
This year’s campaign ‘Now’s the time’, led by charity New Family Social, brings together adoption and fostering agencies from across the country and aims to challenge myths and build confidence across the LGBTQ+ community.
