Dad groups at our children’s centres
Our children's centres host dedicated dads groups, offering welcoming spaces for dads to spend quality time with their children and to meet other dads.
Sessions are run at Cottingham Children’s Centre on the last Saturday of the month, Marshlands Children's Centre in Goole on the first Saturday, and the Play and Learn Dads 0-5 group at Bridlington Family Centre once a month.
Goole and Marshlands sessions are specially designed for non-mobile babies, giving dads the chance to connect, share experiences, and learn about early child development. These sessions feature a range of baby-friendly activities and soft sensory play, fostering precious early bonds and supporting babies’ growth and curiosity.
At Bridlington, the monthly group offers a lively environment where dads can actively support their child’s development through play, crafts, and singing, building confidence and creating fun learning moments together.
We also share practical ideas for activities to enjoy at home, making it easier for dads to continue supporting their child's learning beyond the session.
Engaging fathers in their children’s lives is important. Dads’ groups help break down barriers, reduce isolation, and offer fathers a network of support. They also encourage positive parenting, helping dads feel more confident and connected to their child’s education and development.
For those looking for extra support or inspiration, the Dads Pad is available, an online resource packed with advice, tips, and activities for dads at every stage.
We also offer access to a range of digital resources, giving dads easy ways to stay informed and involved, even when they can't join sessions in person.

By working together with dads, we can help every child thrive and strengthen families across our community.
