‘Big Care Career Fairs’ return this February

There will be three 'Big Care Career Fairs' taking place this February in Goole, Bridlington, and Beverley. The fairs aim to showcase a variety of roles available in care, from frontline support to behind-the-scenes positions.

They also offer a unique opportunity to speak directly with local adult social care businesses and discover the wide variety of rewarding careers available.

A164/Jock's Lodge overnight closure update

The dates for the overnight closures on the A1079 have changed.

The A1079 will be closed in both directions overnight between Killingwoldgraves roundabout and Jock’s Lodge roundabout for the installation of the vehicle restraint system and surfacing works on:

Monday 23 February – Thursday 26 February
Tuesday 3 March – Friday 6 March
Monday 9 March - Friday 13 March
Monday 16 March – Friday 20 March
Monday 23 March – Friday 27 March
Monday 3 March – Thursday 2 April
Tuesday 7 April – Friday 10 April

All dates subject to change.

East Riding Libraries are partnering with Mikron Theatre and tickets are now on sale for a brand-new play centered around the mobile library service. Opening this March, you will follow the four actor-musicians as the mobile library dives into chapters that teem with the lives of then and now.

Registration open for Bridlington Beach 5km and Fun Run

Bridlington Beach 5km and Fun Run will return on Saturday, 5 July. The run will take place on Bridlington South Beach and follow a similar route along the beach and coastline, however this year, due to more favourable tide-times, the run will take place on firmer sand.

New ‘Northern Soul’ watercolour and print exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery

‘Northern Soul’ will feature inside Beverley Art Gallery, from now until Saturday, 14 March. The works are brought together like pieces of a jigsaw, each one revealing something about northern life. They trace how the artist’s understanding of the north has grown over time.

You could get £250 from the Household Support Fund

If you do not have sufficient income to meet your essential daily living costs, you can make an application for a one-off Household Support Fund payment of £250.

This is to support you with food, energy bills and other essentials you may need.
