National Harvest Mouse Survey
Join The Hull Mammal Group to survey harvest mice nests as part of the Mammal Society’s national harvest mouse survey.
The group welcome any volunteers to support the surveys, and no special experience or qualifications are required. It’s a great way to help scientists seeking to restore nature, while getting out into nature for a fun treasure hunt style activity that’s suitable for all ages!

Wild Winter Experience with Rewilding Youth
Wild Winter Experience with Rewilding Youth will be at Constable Community Allotment (Constable St, HU3 3DF), Hull.
On Saturday 20th December from 10am-3pm there will be natural festive crafts, bushcraft, and other outdoor activities.
This session is free and funded by the Healthy Holidays Hull programme and is aimed at ages 5-16.

Climate Storytelling Project at Beverley Library.
East Riding Libraries and Ergon Theatre are launching a unique Research & Development project focused on exploring the impact of climate change through the arts. This is supported by Arts Council England. It will be a chance to:
- Connect with fellow community members who care about Beverley’s environment
- Share your insights and experiences through guided creative sessions
- Collaborate with theatre professionals to develop and record your own climate stories
- Learn radio performance techniques

 BTO Birds in Greenspaces Project
The BTO Birds in Greenspaces project aims to find out just how important greenspaces are for UK birds, and provide guidance on effective greenspace management for birds and people.
The project starts in April 2026, but you can sign up to a newsletter now to stay informed, and find some free resources including a winter warm up pack.
Fisheries Improvement Programme 2026
The Environment Agency has confirmed funding for angling projects in 2026. The Fisheries Improvement Programme (FIP) is funded from the coarse, trout and eel fishing licence income and provides a direct benefit to anglers. £730,000 is initially being available to support projects, most of which are developed and delivered by angling clubs and other partners.
