As the final roll-out of the childcare expansion continues, the Local Authority has a statutory duty to secure sufficient childcare for working parents. As we work towards our 2025-6 Childcare Sufficiency Report, we want to show a clear picture of the available childcare within the East Riding, with the introduction of the new funding entitlements this has become an even greater importance.
To ensure this is accurate and precise we are asking all settings to complete the attached excel spreadsheet and return via e-mail to fish@eastriding.gov.uk by Friday 5th December 2025
We have tried to make it as simple and easy to complete as possible and whilst we appreciate some of the data won’t be 100% accurate as children may start/leave after this date and that you may still not know your final numbers for January 2026, it will help us greatly moving forward.

Places Offered = How many places you make available for specific age group
Take Up = How many children are accessing a funding place on that day
Vacant Places = How many available spaces do you have after take up
Both Entitlements = Disadvantaged and Working Parents
Additional Staff = Extra staff employed due to number of funded children attending. i.e Assistant.
