SEND inspection update

The East Riding SEND inspection by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission took place between 8 and 26 September 2025.

We are currently awaiting the formal inspection report, which is expected to be published in mid-November. A further update will be provided to all stakeholders once the report is available, through the Local Offer website and future bulletins.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part. Whether you shared your own perspective or supported others to share theirs, your input has been valuable in helping inspectors understand local experiences.

We look forward to sharing the outcomes with you and continuing to work together to improve services and support for children and young people with SEND across the East Riding.

Help us capture parent, carer and pupil voices around SEND

As part of our ongoing work to promote the new Local Offer website, the Local Offer team has been out and about visiting coffee mornings, drop-ins, and other community events to gather feedback from families. It’s been fantastic to hear your thoughts so far, thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to speak with us!

We’re keen to continue these conversations and would love to attend any upcoming activity sessions, youth groups, or community events where families and young people are present. If you're involved in organising or attending anything like this, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to come along and connect.

Alongside feedback on the website, we’re also working to better understand the key issues and themes affecting children and young people with SEND. We’re keen to hear directly from parents, carers, and young people about their experiences, challenges and ideas for improvement.

If you're part of a group that works with SEND children or young people or would be happy to help facilitate a small discussion, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Solihull Approach now rebranded to Togetherness

Earlier this year, with support from our family help team, we shared information about Inourplace, an online learning platform offering free, evidence-based courses in emotional health, relationships, child development and parenting, built on the Solihull Approach. 

Now, the Solihull Approach and Inourplace are being rebranded under a new name: Togetherness.

What does this mean for our parents and carers? 

Parents and carers will continue to be able to access the online learning and face-to-face training, now under the Togetherness brand. All resources and learning materials previously hosted on Inourplace will be still be available, but will be held on the new Togetherness website.

Join EYPCF and KIDS for an informative workshop on the Demand Avoidant Profile (PDA) with Paula Linford, trainer for the PDA Society and Autism Hub lead at KIDS. Paula brings 20 years of personal and professional experience in supporting families and professionals around PDA.

EYPCF – Volunteer with Us 🙋‍♀️

Are you a parent/carer of a child 0-25 with SEND and want to share your experience and knowledge to help improve lives for families across the East Riding?

Being a volunteer of the Steering Group involves representing the PCF at meetings with the local authority, health, and other external organisations alongside other PCF Steering Group members, attending and helping at EYPCF events, check-in and chats, and workshops around the region.

Clearly time is an important element, our experience shows that those who have children linked into local SEND provision are passionate about getting the best care, not only for their own children, but for others too.  So many of the parents who come to us for advice are happy to pass on their own experiences in meetings and in consultations.
