SEND inspection completed – Thank you for your support
We’re pleased to share that the SEND inspection in East Riding was completed on Friday, 10 October. It’s been nearly four years since our last inspection and we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part.
Whether you shared your own perspective or supported others to share theirs, your contribution has made a real difference. We’re especially grateful to everyone who completed the Ofsted surveys, your feedback plays a vital role in helping inspectors understand what’s working well and where improvements are needed.
We expect to receive the inspection feedback in mid-November and we’ll share it with you when we can, through the Local Offer website and future bulletins.
We’re committed to listening, learning and working together to keep improving services and support for children and young people with SEND across East Riding.
Thank you again for your continued support and for being part of this journey.

Help us bring the Local Offer to you and hear your feedback!
We’ve been out and about the last few weeks visiting school coffee mornings and parents’ evenings and we’re now looking to join some activity sessions during the half term holidays too!
We want to make it as easy as possible for families to connect with us so if you know of a group, event, or activity where families will be gathering, we’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s a community centre, play session, SEND-friendly event, or informal meet-up, we’re happy to pop by with our stall and a friendly face.
📧 Please send your suggestions to: localoffer@eastriding.gov.uk
Let’s shape and develop the Local Offer together in the places that work best for you.

-
Early Years Inclusion Panel – Brings services together to offer coordinated, multi-agency support for children with learning, developmental, physical or medical needs. It’s not a service, but a process with a named lead practitioner to ensure the right support at the right time.
-
Portage – A home-visiting educational service for pre-school children with SEND. It offers home visits, Portage groups, training for families and practitioners, and the Portage Stamp of Approval for inclusive early years settings.
-
