Funding

Please note all funding codes must be applied for on or before 31^st August 2025. Any codes applied for after this date will not be valid for an Autumn term claim and cannot be used until Spring 2026 (as long as eligibility continues)

All exisiting codes must be checked before the start of term to ensure they remain valid for the Autumn term.

Please remember that any children who are in their grace period can only claim the funding if they have claimed this in the previous term – children cannot start their funding claims for the first term while in their grace period.

🌟 Last Chance for Free Inclusion Training! 🌟

Thanks to the Comic Relief Project, every early years practitioner can currently access £350 worth of free inclusion training from Dingley’s Promise—but this incredible offer ends in June 2026!

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to build inclusive practice and support every child to thrive. The training is designed to empower practitioners with the knowledge and confidence to create truly inclusive settings.

New Courses are expected in the autumn and don't forget the Leaders and Managers for Inclusion and Intersection within Early Years Practice courses that also now online available to access.

Portage Workshop

Monday 22nd September 9.30am-4pm, Tuesday 21st October 9.30am-4pm, and Wednesday 19^th November 9.30am-4pm at Beverley Enterprise Centre.

This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.

The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year’s settings (PVI or maintained), Children’s Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.

Central to the course are the ‘Portage Principles’ and the ‘Three Circle Model of Portage’. The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length. The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.

The workshop is designed to support parents who have children that are being supported by Portage, and practitioners working with children, to help support their learning and development and to understand the strategies and principles used by Portage Workers.

Youth clubs
Toddler playgroups, Stay & Play parent groups
Special interest clubs e.g photography, dance, craft, music clubs etc
Sports clubs
Any other type of activity/social group

Information and Consultations

The Reading Force 2025 Memoir Writing Competition is now open for adults and young people (0–18) from across the tri-service community, including serving personnel, veterans, spouses, partners, children, and relatives. Entries can be: • A memoir of your own experiences • A biography of a friend, relative, or admired person from the Forces How to enter: Children & young people (up to 18), send a piece of writing (500–1,000 words) about life in the military community, or someone special to you. Poems, reflections, or stories are welcome, illustrations too! Prizes include the chance to be published by: • Pen and Sword Books Publishing • Army & You (Army&You Magazine) • Homeport (Royal Navy Family and People Support) • Envoy magazines (RAF Families Federation) Entries must be submitted by email only to: info@readingforce.org.uk

Although schools are on their summer holidays, the Health Protection are still here to support you and your settings.

We offer advice on all infectious diseases that may affect both staff and children. We understand that outbreaks such as D&V can be challenging to manage and we are here to help.
