📣 Our New East Riding Local Offer Website launches on Monday!

We’re excited to announce that the new East Riding Local Offer website will be launching on Monday, 28 July.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to improve your experience, making the site easier to navigate, more accessible and packed with up-to-date information for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), their families, and carers.

You might have seen the banner on our current site over the past few weeks introducing the upcoming changes. We hope this has given you a chance to explore the new layout and get a feel for what’s to come.

💬 We’d love to hear your thoughts! Once the new site is live, please take a look around and share your feedback using the Feedback Tool which you’ll find on every page. Your views are vital in helping us shape the Local Offer to better meet your needs.

📍Coming to a community near you! Next term, we’re planning to host some drop-in Local Offer Roadshow sessions across the East Riding. These will be a great opportunity to explore the new website, ask questions, and share your thoughts in person.

📌 SEND Local Offer Update: Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service

From 1 August 2025, the Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service will be delivered by a new provider, Community Accord, following a procurement of the service. Thank you to all those involved in helping coproduce this.

Until 31 July 2025, the service will continue to be delivered by KIDS. If KIDS have already started working with a family on a mediation or disagreement resolution referral, or if a session has already been scheduled, they will continue to support that case through to its conclusion.

From 1 August, all new referrals should be directed to Community Accord.

School's out for summer and we have plenty to keep families busy over the holiday period.

Whether you’re looking for something engaging, educational or active, our School’s Out website features a range of budget-friendly activities for all ages and activities.

Take part in free activities

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) offers fun activities to children and young people in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

All HAF sessions are free, last at least four hours and include a meal for each child who goes to school in the East Riding.

A limited number of places are also available to children and young people who have an education, health and care plan (EHCP), regardless of their free school meals status.

SaPTs Early Years Support Group

Enjoy sharing early years activities with your child and
the opportunity to meet other parents / carers.

EYPCF - Wills & Trusts

Date – Wednesday 17^th September

Time- 10.00 to 12.00 - please arrive, if possible, by 9.30, Teas, Coffees and Pastries available.

Venue - Gosschalks (HEY smile building) 61 Queens Gardens, Hull HU1 3DZ

COST – FREE, parking at the venue is limited, however, George Street Multistorey Carpark is within easy walking distance and the venue is near multiple bus routes and a short walk from the railway station. Refreshments will be provided.

East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum are proud to offer, in association with Gosschalks Solicitors through HEY Smile foundation, a workshop for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND, to inform and support through knowledge and experience an exploration into the world of Wills & Trusts including Legal Power of Attorney.

Notes - This session is for all parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with SEND. Travel and childcare costs can be reimbursed.

EYPCF – Volunteering Opportunities

Are you a parent/carer of a child 0-25 with SEND and want to share your experience and knowledge to help improve lives for families across the East Riding?

Being a volunteer of the Steering Group involves representing the PCF at meetings with the local authority, health, and other external organisations alongside other PCF Steering Group members, attending and helping at EYPCF events, check-in and chats, and workshops around the region.

Clearly time is an important element, our experience shows that those who have children linked into local SEND provision are passionate about getting the best care, not only for their own children, but for others too. So many of the parents who come to us for advice are happy to pass on their own experiences in meetings and in consultations.
