 Every year, the council is required by law to confirm whether the details held on the electoral register for every household are correct. This is known as the annual canvass. To check this, emails are being sent from the following email address: east.riding.of.yorkshire.council.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk. This is not spam. Free outdoor public access Wi-Fi provides more than £2 million of benefits to the East Riding
 Since the start of the roll out in outdoor spaces, in 2023, public access Wi-Fi installed by the council has had a significant positive impact on local communities, helping businesses, residents and visitors.
Free Wi-Fi is now available in a number of areas across the East Riding, including in 13 outdoor town centres from Bridlington to Snaith. The service is also available in 66 venues, including libraries, leisure centres, and care homes.
CCTV camera towers installed across East Riding in fight against fly-tipping
 A series of CCTV cameras using AI technology are being installed at hotspots across the East Riding in the fight against fly-tipping.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is fitting high-tech towers of CCTV cameras at sites in Cottingham, Hessle, Boynton near Bridlington and Rawcliffe near Goole, in a bid to catch any fly-tippers in the act on film.
Dogger Bank Wind Farm launches local history education pack in East Riding
 Children across East Riding will be able to get their hands on replicas of key historical artefacts that were uncovered during the construction of Dogger Bank Wind Farm, following the launch of a new education pack. The Dogger Bank-funded education pack will be managed by the East Riding School Library Service.
£125,000 scheme to improve road and drainage issues to begin in Cottingham
 Newgate Street, Cottingham will see the investment from the council to upgrade the road surface and address drainage problems.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 11 August, and take three weeks to complete. In order to carry out the repairs there will be two overnight road closures on King Street.
