Bridlington Central Library now open following major refurbishment
 Bridlington Central Library has officially reopened its doors following a full refurbishment of its ground floor, marking a new chapter for one of the town’s most valued community spaces.

East Riding schools join White Ribbon campaign to tackle violence against women and girls
 Schools in the East Riding have obtained White Ribbon accreditation, signing up to the campaign to tackle domestic violence and abuse in the East Riding.
The White Ribbon campaign, a charity, leads the way on ending violence against women and girls by addressing the root causes of men’s violence against women.
Road improvements for village of Watton, between Driffield and Beverley
 East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £570,000 in a scheme to improve Carr Lane, Watton, between the railway crossing and the junction with Cross Lane.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday 28 July, be carried out during the daytime, and is expected to take up to seven weeks to complete.
Open day at East Riding’s newest crematorium
Lelley Fields Crematorium is opening its doors and inviting people to an open day.
Residents from across the area will get the rare chance to see behind the scenes at the crematorium in Sproatley Road, Preston, on Saturday 19 July, from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Half price young persons’ discount on buses in the East Riding
 Young people in the East Riding will be able to travel on local buses for just £1.50 with the return of a discount scheme during the school holidays.
Passengers aged 16 to 19 can ride local buses for just £1.50 for a single journey or £3 for a return journey on local bus services this summer, from Saturday 19 July until Sunday 31 August.
