Renewable energy projects highlighted on Earth Day
 On Earth Day, Tuesday 22 April, we showcased the renewable energy projects we are working on.
These include onshore and offshore wind farms, solar farm projects, solar technology and air source heat pumps in council homes and the installation of low-carbon lighting.
Thanks to these projects, we have reduced our carbon footprint by 44.1% since 2007.
Sewerby Hall and Gardens to sell eco-friendly fertilizer
 Last month (April), Sewerby Hall and Gardens launched their new initiative in selling animal waste as natural fertilizer. The nutrient-packed 'zoo poo', gathered from the hoof stock. It is available to collect from the Worklink car park, Monday to Friday between 11am and 2pm for a minimum donation of £5 per bag.
Bridlington Kite Festival 2025 will celebrate its 10th anniversary
 Bridlington Kite Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year as the fun, family, friendly festival returns to Sewerby cliff top, Bridlington, on the East Yorkshire Coast.
Some of the world’s largest inflatable kites will take to the skies over the weekend of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 May.

This weekend: Medieval re-enactment weekend returns to Sewerby Hall and Gardens
 On Saturday, 3 and Sunday, 4 May, Sewerby Hall and Gardens will host medieval living encampments, craft displays, feudal fashion workshops and medieval kitchen demonstrations. The weekend will also include mock battle sequences, archery shows and other attractions.
David Remfry exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery
 British painter David Remfry MBE returns to Yorkshire where his career began, with a major retrospective at Beverley Art Gallery. Until Saturday, 21 June witness portraits, still life, small and large scale paintings and drawings will be on display.
Visitors can trace the artist’s career from Yorkshire origins to London, New York and beyond.
