Local economy at a glance
Our regeneration and funding team have launched a new Local Economic Assessment (LEA) dashboard which presents the latest information on a range of economic indicators.
Claire Watts, director of economic development and communications said: "Understanding our local economy is key to making informed decisions that drive growth and opportunity. I encourage you to explore our LEA dashboard, by making use of this resource, we can ensure our initiatives are backed by data and aligned with the needs of our residents and businesses."

Residents encouraged to share their views on nature
The Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is encouraging residents to share their views on how we can recover nature across the region. The LNRS is a statutory strategy, mandated by the government, aimed at creating, improving, and connecting high-quality habitats.
As part of the development of the LNRS, we are consulting with residents and community groups and encouraging them to share their views on the draft strategy.

Goole health and care services – NHS
The health and care board which oversees the NHS in Goole has launched a public conversation about services in the town.
NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), together with the Humber Health Partnership which runs Goole and District Hospital, is keen to reassure people about the future of the hospital, whilst offering residents the opportunity to talk about how they would like to see hospital and other health services in the town developed and improved.

We’ve launched our White Ribbon campaign web pages, dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to prevent violence against women and girls.

Save the date for our ‘More than Weight’ network events
In July, the council’s public health team will be hosting a series of in-person ‘More than Weight’ network events in Goole, Bridlington, Haltemprice and Withernsea.
These events are open to anyone who wants to explore what healthy weight means to us in East Riding, and how we could take a more compassionate approach to weight in all areas of our lives.

Give yourself a ‘Good Boost’ with our East Riding Leisure health programme
Do you or a loved one live with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis or back pain? Have you heard of the ‘Good Boost’ health programme which is currently available through our East Riding Leisure (ERL) centres in Driffield and Beverley? The Good Boost programme uses AI technology which is accessed through a tablet to create personalised pool exercises or land-based sessions based on the information you provide.

New community grants available to boost local town centres and green spaces
New grants are available for local communities in the East Riding of Yorkshire, as part of the ‘Thriving Places Fund’, supported by the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), including the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF)
The council will provide grants for between £5,000 and £20,000 to support new creative, community-led initiatives. In total, £500,000 is available to be allocated for local projects, and the council does not intend to allocate less than £5,000 for any single project.

Our family help team has recently adopted the Solihull Parenting Approach.
The platform offers online learning, providing all families and professionals with quick and easy access to high-quality, evidence-based parenting information, advice, and guidance.
