English Tourism Week 14-23 March 2025
Led by VisitEngland, the annual campaign raises awareness of the importance of the sector and the contribution it makes to the British economy to stakeholders including media and Government. As a sector, English tourism supports thousands of SMEs and over two million jobs.
In honour of this year’s theme “Supporting people and places to drive growth” VHEY have been highlighting the benefits and opportunities available to businesses that are part of the VHEY partnership. On the Visit East Yorkshire channel, they have been highlighting some of the region’s amazing hidden gems.
Hull Trains is making waves in promoting the region during English Tourism Week!
Teaming up with reality TV star Jack Marriner Brown, they embarked on an exciting tour of Yorkshire, showcasing the area’s top attractions and hidden gems.
This collaboration highlights Hull Trains’ commitment to boosting regional tourism, encouraging visitors to explore everything Yorkshire has to offer. From Fantastic attractions to the wonderful countryside of the region, the campaign has put Hull and East Yorkshire in the spotlight.

East Yorkshire Local Food & Rural Tourism Network Annual Spring Event

Stay for an afternoon guided tour of North Cave Wetlands Nature Reserve (optional) After lunch you could join Tony Martin, Nature Reserves Manager at North Cave Wetlands, to look at habitat restoration work taking place on site. Easy walking and five perfectly positioned hides make this the perfect place to get close to nature.
North Cave Wetlands is home to barn owls, bitterns, curlews and kingfishers, as well as up to 2% of the national breeding population of avocets, one of Yorkshire’s biggest sand martin colonies, and up to 2,000 pairs of black-headed gulls, a nationally significant number.

This week Visit Hull and East Yorkshire attended the British Tourism and Travel Show as part of the Yorkshire Tourism Initiative. The event is a premier gathering for the UK’s tourism and travel industry, featuring over 250 exhibitors and attracting thousands of visitors.
It has been a great couple of days showcasing the group offerings in Hull and East Yorkshire and connecting with tour operators from around the UK, industry experts and hearing the latest travel trends.

Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY) urges academics and association members to influence conference organisers, boosting the region’s profile. Chair Chris Blacksell highlights the role of conferences in supporting local businesses and the visitor economy.
The campaign, launched during English Tourism Week, follows successes like the Cultural Tides conference and the upcoming UK Pride Organisers’ Network Conference 2025.
VHEY, supporting 1,700 businesses, will assist Conference Champions through regular gatherings to grow the visitor economy and create job opportunities.
