Welcome to the Holiday Activities and Food newsletter - here to keep you updated on all things related to free activities and food!
Date for your diary: Friday 14th March 2025
The Easter HAF programme will be launched 8am on Friday 14th March 2025. There’s lots of enjoy from your favourite multi-sport sessions, farm days, dance workshops and outdoor adventure activities to sessions just for young people and children who have special educational needs and disabilities.
New to HAF this Easter include horse riding lessons, yoga and mindfulness, roller disco, archery and Shetland pony interactions. We have more outdoor adventure sessions taking place across the East Riding which include bushcraft, animal tracking, shelter building and cooking on an open fire, plus SEND specific sessions will be delivered at the new hi ropes aerial adventure park 'The Edge' in Bridlington. Some providers are also running excursions in the holidays too.
Over the next 2 weeks, more activities will be placed on the booking website, so keep looking to see if there is something close to where you live or an activity you feel your son or daughter will enjoy.
This Easter, you can book up to 4 funded sessions on any activities subject to availability, with all programmes listed on Plinth, the HAF booking website. You may wish to book all your places with the same HAF provider (that's completely fine) or spread your bookings among a range of different organisations. All we ask is that if you cannot attend (even if it's last minute), to visit Plinth and cancel your booking.
If you have not done so already, please sign up to Plinth now as it will make it easier when the bookings become live. The platform undertakes an automatic check to see if you are eligible for the funded places. If your instant check isn't initially approved, don't worry, we will be doing some work behind the scenes to ensure all those children and young people who are eligible receive access to the activities. Check back on the website in a few days time or email haf@eastriding.gov.uk with details of your child's name, date of birth and school.
1:1 Support
Please book the sessions on Plinth that you feel your son or daughter may enjoy and then speak to the provider about the support they can offer. If you feel 1:1 support is needed, please email haf@eastriding.gov.uk and I'll send you a short form to complete. A team will consider your application form in the order they are received. Please note that if you currently do not have a package of support by direct payments in place or the HAF delivery provider does not have additional support staff available, sourcing a support worker may take some time over this holiday period and is not guaranteed, but we will do our best to help where we can.
We'll keep you updated on all upcoming activities.
