0-25 SEND Team

We’re always working to ensure our practice is of the highest quality and as such we commissioned an independent review of the 0-25 SEND team. The recommendations identified mean that the 0-25 SEND team will no longer operate under the current arrangements from the end of December 2024.

The diagram below explains the upcoming changes to where you and your child will receive support from.

Our key messages for you

Continuity of service. Families will still receive the same level of support from the right services.
No changes to direct payments. All children receiving a package of support through direct payments will receive continuity of support.
Your Family Coordinator will get in touch with you. Over the coming weeks your family coordinator will be in touch to inform you where your child will receive support from as part of the new arrangements.

SEND and Inclusion Strategy update - 2025 co-production dates

We’ve had great attendance so far at our SEND strategy co-production events, with over 75 attendees at the four sessions that have taken place so far. As part of our first session collectively our attendees outlined six priorities, they felt were most important to be included in our SEND strategy. In the further 3 sessions to date, we have covered half of the priorities identified: Transitions, Culture and Governance.

To increase opportunities for more professionals, parents, and young people to take part and share views, we have an additional four sessions booked in to take place in January. If you have previously attended a session or can only spare a couple of hours, we’d love to see you at any part of our upcoming sessions.

· Session 5 – Communication. Friday 10 January, 10.30am – 2.30pm, Warton Arms, Hull Rd, Woodmansey.

· Session 6 – Partnerships. Friday, 17 January, 10.30am – 2.30pm, BF44, County Hall, Beverley.

· Session 7 – Timely Support. Monday, 20 January, 10.30am – 2.30pm, BF44, County Hall, Beverley.

· Session 8 – Workforce Development. Wednesday, 29 January, 10.30am – 2.30pm, Warton Arms, Hull Rd, Woodmansey.

The RISE Partnership - Improving engagement and co-production in the East Riding

As part of the RISE Programme, funded by the Department for Education (DfE), the Council for Disabled Children (CDC) have been invited by local leaders in the East Riding to offer two workshops on the theme of co-production. The first workshop will be followed by another, half-day online workshop mapping opportunities for engagement with children and young people to embed co-production across the Local Area SEND Partnership.

Workshop one: Improving engagement and co-production in East Riding

Tuesday, 28 January, BF44, County Hall Beverley, 10am – 3pm (arrivals from 9.30am).

Tuesday, 11 February, 1.30-4.30pm.

The workshops are aimed at a multi-agency audience, including parents and carers as well as representatives from health, education, local authority, and social care teams; strategic leaders, services managers, and senior practitioners; as well as SENDIASS and voluntary sector organisations.

This free event offers valuable information and support for children with SEND and their families as they transition into adulthood and adult social care.

EYPCF – SEND Knowledge, Information, & Support Workshop

Date – Monday 13th January 2025

Time – 18:00 to 21:00

Venue – Beverley Enterprise Centre, Beckview Road, Beverley, HU17 0JT

COST – FREE, parking is available onsite, a light buffet will be provided.

Notes - This session is for all parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with SEND. Travel and childcare costs can be reimbursed.

Please join us at Beverley Enterprise Centre for our first evening workshop of 2025, which will be covering all aspects of need identification and assessment.

This workshop is being funded by the Joyona Charitable Trust, registered number 1125861 and delivered by Shirley Pethick.

The evening will include:

SEND legal framework & Code of Practice.

Interactive sessions on assessment and identification of need.

Termly support plans and outcomes.

Feel free to bring with you any documentation you have for your child, such as EHCPs and current termly support plans.
