The LADO is responsible for managing allegations against adults who work or volunteer with children. The LADO must be contacted within one working day in respect of all cases where it is alleged that a person who works with children has demonstrated any four specific behaviours.

The National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel has published its fifth annual report.
This report considers the national the child safeguarding system, based on serious child safeguarding incidents occurring between April 2023 and March 2024.
It highlights key themes and patterns in practice for national government and local safeguarding partners to improve the protection of vulnerable children.

E-safety and autism-friendly Christmas tips |

Christmas is a time of excitement and celebration, but for children and young people with autism, it can be extremely challenging. The National Autistic Society provides autism-friendly advice for the Christmas season, which includes some useful tips.
The Christmas season also coincides with children and young people spending time online on their new gadgets. It is advisable to set aside time to make sure that all devices with internet access are set up safely. There are easy steps you can take to make sure children and young people stay safe online.

It has been a busy few months for multi-agency audit activity in the ERSCP. Partners have taken time to consider the effectiveness of our multi-agency co-operation and local safeguarding arrangements to ensure they are working well.
We have seen examples of excellent practice, including a good understanding of when referrals should be made to Children’s Social Care, and good examples of information sharing and co-operation.

At this time of year when many will be visiting families and friends, it is important to plan how to provide a safer sleep environment for a baby when away from home.
A cot, Moses basket or travel cot is ideal, but there are other options if you don't have access these.
