Funding

FISH Fact - Autumn headcount will open for submissions 16^th September

• Any parent/carer wishing to apply for either the 9 months+, 2 year funding or the 30 hours Extended Entitlement, must have done so before 31^st August to claim this from 2nd September 2024. Any codes applied for after 31^st August 2024 will not be eligible to start until the 2025 Spring term. (Please remember to obtain proof of 9 months+, 2 year funding or the 30 Hours Eligibility code before accepting a child onto one of these places)
• Autumn term headcount is due to take place between 16/09/2024 until 04/10/2024 with the official headcount date being 03/10/2024
• Due to an error in the procedure for carrying the children over from the 2024 Summer term to the 2024 Autumn term, you may find that some children are listed on both the 2 year funding and the 3&4 year funding tabs. If this is the case children who turn 2 from 1 September 2024 onwards will need to be deleted from the 3& 4 year funding tabs and your submission for them should be made using the 2 year funding tab as normal.

Portage Workshop

This is a certificated training course delivered by National Portage Association Accredited Trainers.

The Portage Workshop is an introduction to the Portage Approach to working with children with additional needs and their families. The workshop is suitable for early years practitioners who work in an early year’s settings (PVI or maintained), Children’s Centres, Childminders and parents/carers of children who are receiving Portage support.

Central to the course are the ‘Portage Principles’ and the ‘Three Circle Model of Portage’.  The NPA has set standards for minimum workshop content and length.  The Workshop has a core curriculum consisting of seven modules and must last a minimum of 2 full days plus a Follow Up session.

The workshop is designed to support parents who have children that are being supported by Portage, and practitioners working with children, to help support their learning and development and to understand the strategies and principles used by Portage Workers.

Workshop will be 9:30am - 4pm on all 3 days and all days need to be attended.

Public health support for early years and childcare settings

In addition, we invite you to join the early years team at East Riding for an informal and helpful session (delivered via MS Teams) for staff (including managers and owners) to meet colleagues from our public health 'health protection' team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, who will provide information on:

• Infectious and notifiable diseases
• Infection prevention and control
• How to contact the health protection team if you need any support as we head into a busy autumn term and winter months.

There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions.

Wraparound Childcare Questionnaire

This is a friendly reminder to complete the Wraparound Childcare Questionnaire as soon as possible. Your feedback is essential for us to improve our services, and we greatly appreciate your prompt response.  

Additionally, if you haven't already done so, please distribute the Wrapround Care Parents Questionnaire to the parents of the children in your care. Their input is just as valuable in helping us understand their needs and expectations.
