Childcare Sufficiency Data

As mentioned on our previous Update Meetings, with the new funding entitlements across all 9 months and above from September we need to ensure we have an update picture of sufficiency rather than a retrospective view via our Annual Childcare Sufficiency Assessment.

Therefore, we are asking all settings if they could fill in this Excel spreadsheet and return via e-mail to fish@eastriding.gov.uk by Friday 16^th August. We have tried to make it as simple and easy to complete as possible and whilst we appreciate some of the data won’t be 100% accurate as children may start/leave after this date, it will give us a useful starting point to work with.

Update to Education Public Health Support for all East Riding Education and Early Years Settings.

From August 2024, the work provided by the education public Health officers will be delivered directly by the public health team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The council will continue to offer public health support, however, the way you access this is changing.

All Early Years Providers are still requested to notify us of any infectious diseases via the Online Reporting System- https://east-riding-self.achieveservice.com/service/Infectious_disease_notification

This will include health protection specifically outbreak guidance, and support for all education and early years settings in East Riding as well as health improvement work such as the healthy schools award, tobacco control (including vaping), and emotional wellbeing.

As of 19 July 2024 the cfsinfo@eastriding.gov.uk email and the CFS phone support service will no longer be monitored/available.

Do Something BIG’ campaign – advertising vacancies on Find A Job 

The Do Something BIG recruitment campaign is ramping up again in early August.  

This marketing campaign promotes early years and childcare careers on a national-scale across multiple advertising channels. It highlights the huge difference early years professionals make to young children and how rewarding working in the sector can be.   

The campaign directs potential applicants to use DWP’s Find a Job vacancy platform to search for early years roles in their area.  

Providers should use the term ‘early years’ in the title of the job adverts and select ‘Education jobs’ for the job category. 

This service is free to use and will ensure vacancies are seen by a large pool of potential candidates.
