Families Information Service Hub

The Families Information Service Hub is also known as FISH and is a friendly and helpful team that operates a Helpline offering free, impartial information for young people, parents/carers and professionals who have a role in supporting families in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

FISH are responsible for providing information to families of children and young people and the professionals who support these families. You can find information about the following areas:

•Activities

•Sure Start children’s centres

•Looking for childcare

•Family Service Directory

•Help/advice with childcare costs

•Information about Funded Early Education for 2, 3 and 4 year olds

•Working with children

Tesco launches Stronger Starts apprenticeship programme

Tesco launches Stronger Starts apprenticeship programme

Tesco have recently announced the launch of their new Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme, as part of their commitment to help young people achieve a stronger start in life.

Stronger Starts is one of the few apprenticeship programmes that doesn’t require any qualifications or experience as entry requirements.

After completing the programme, apprentices gain a Level 2 National Standard in Retail, which is the equivalent of 5 GCSE passes.

The programme opens for applications on 24th June 2024.

You can also join live webinars with the Early Careers team from Tesco to learn more about their Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme, opening for applications in June 2024.

You can join on 14th May at either 4pm-5pm or 6pm-7pm - please join the session time which is most suitable for you. If you are not able to make either of these times, please still register so you can receive the recording. We recommend you join live, so you can ask questions.

Event :Youth Club for Siblings and Young Carers ages 10 - 17 years.

Autism course

1 Day Course Understanding ADHD & Autism

The Autism & ADHD Advocates CIS are running a 1 day course for parent/carers to unlock their understanding of ADHD & Autism.

Understanding the challenges associated with ADHD and Autism can greatly enhance the support network for individuals. By equipping parents and carers with the knowledge and tools to better understand these conditions, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Time: 9.30am until 2.30pm (lunch is provided)

EYPCF hosting Check-in & Chat

Date – 18 June 2024

Time – 10:30 – 12:30

Venue – Beverley – The Enterprise Centre, Beck View Rd, Beverely, HU17 0JT

COST – FREE, parking is available onsite, please log your registration number with reception.

Notes - This session is for all parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with SEND.

This is a chance to meet the members of the EYPCF team and a great opportunity to meet likeminded parents and carers who understand what life is like as a SEND family to share experiences and offer peer to peer support.

Please send us an email to let us know that you will be joining us with your name and contact details.

We can provide expenses support (mileage or public transport) or any childcare costs although children are more than welcome.
