Please see the below alert and attached briefing that has come via the London region for your awareness:
"We would like to make you aware of an alert shared by North East London ICB regarding Information received from London Borough of Newham Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) detailing concerns re: a doctor coming from Bangladesh to facilitate a webinar/intervention in Newham for autistic. children - the view is this will impact Asian communities. This information was gathered from the parents of an autistic child.
The treatment described by the parent involves the doctor carrying out a procedure involving the possible extraction and transfer of arrow/spinal fluid to the child’s brain matter by injection.
This unlicensed procedure is being promoted as a miracle cure for autism. It is currently thought that the doctor plans to arrive in the UK on 22 April 2024.
The police have been notified and created a CRIMINT (Criminal Intelligence) report. Unfortunately, we currently have limited information, but can share the attached briefing by North East London ICB which details the relevant contacts related to the case if you have any further information as it is likely that other families have been targeted.”

Department for Education Updates
Launch of the Learning Site
The learning site is now live which contains the LAB (for LAs) and the HUB (for providers).
On the LAB you will now find resources from the business support sessions based on the PREPARE model that Coram Hempsall’s have been working on with LAs over the last few months. These resources include PowerPoint slides from the bitesize sessions, recordings and examples from LAs. You will also find the PREPARE recorded sessions – these have been developed for local authorities to:
- Share links to the recorded PREPARE content widely so providers are able to self-serve, without any local authority input.
- Use the learning and recorded content in part or as a whole in your direct work with providers at networks, training or 1.1 support as part of the provider support strategy.
- Utilise the PREPARE PowerPoint slide deck in part or as a whole in your business support strategy.
