Review of Alternative Provision: Feedback sessions
East Riding of Yorkshire Council commissioned a review of alternative provision in the local area. Alternative provision is education outside school, arranged by local authorities or schools, for pupils who do not attend mainstream school for reasons such as school exclusion, behaviour issues, school refusal, or short or long-term illness. It includes settings such as pupil referral units (PRUs), although some pupils who are on the roll of a PRU may also attend other forms of alternative provision off-site.
The council recognises that there is a local need to create more alternative provision places. We need to be confident that we are providing the right support in the right place at the right time for children and young people who require alternative provision.
The East Riding of Yorkshire review of alternative provision wishes to examine the key question:
Is East Riding of Yorkshire Council meeting their statutory duties for children and young people who require access to high-quality alternative education provision?
Parents who have current or past experience of their child attending or accessing an alternative provision for any reason, are invited to attend any of the sessions below.
The date for the online feedback session is scheduled for Tuesday 12 March at 6.30pm-8.30pm via the Zoom link below:
