February update

Preparation work for the A164/Jock's Lodge junction scheme continues.

Road users will start to see changes as the preparation works for the A164/Jock's Lodge junction scheme continue. The overnight road closures to construct the traffic management on the A164 have now been completed, with barriers installed from Skidby roundabout to the junction with Coppleflat Lane. The 30mph speed limit between Skidby roundabout and Victoria roundabout, Beverley which was imposed on Monday 8 January will stay in place for the duration of the scheme.

Site clearance is underway, preparing the land and creating a level site that is ready for construction. The main compound has been set up, this will be a base for the works throughout the duration of the scheme. Fencing will also be built around the work boundaries.

These preparation works are taking place now ready for the earthworks to commence in early spring. 

Upcoming works 

A1079

Temporary traffic management will be installed on the A1079, work will start on Monday 19 February for one week. This will include lane closures on both the westbound and eastbound dual carriageways near the existing junction, with one lane still open for traffic. The width of the slip roads will be reduced and a 30mph speed limit will be imposed through the works area / lane closure, this will then return to the national speed limit. The traffic management is necessary to complete site clearance works safely. 

A164

Traffic light signals will be temporarily installed at various locations from Skidby roundabout to Coppleflat Lane to allow for trial holes and service crossings to be carried out safely. These signals will be in place for one week from Monday 19 February between the hours of 8pm - 5am. Please note this is subject to change.

During the scheme, abnormal loads are being diverted from the A164. There will also be a diversion route in place for cyclists from Skidby roundabout to Beverley. You can view the diversion routes below:
