As applications for 2-year funding for working parents have opened you will be receiving more enquiries from parents regarding their codes, you may even be receiving these new codes currently. Please remember that children claiming funding through the new entitlement can only start accessing this funding in April 2024 not January.
New codes/correspondence may state a January start date however this is the date the parent will have applied and not the date they can start accessing their funding.
Parents with a start date of January may need to reconfirm before the start of the new term in order to access their funding come April, please use the eligibility checker on the Ehub to verify the code details.
It is our understanding that the code information you will see works like the 30 hours entitlement.
- The start date is the date the application was found eligible.
- The end date is the date the code needs to be reconfirmed by.
- The grace period end date is the date they can access the funding into should they have a change of circumstances or failed to be reconfirmed before the end date and have accessed the funding previously.

Parents who don’t meet the criteria for the above will need to visit Parent Portal: Home (eastriding.gov.uk) to make an application.
