Out of School Club Network meeting
The national wraparound childcare programme is part of the childcare reforms announced at the 2023 Spring Budget. The government’s ambition is that by 2026, all parents and carers of primary school-aged children who need it will be able to access term time childcare in their local area from 8am-6pm, so that parents can access employment and improve labour market participation.
This programme will only focus on primary school-aged children from reception to year 6, Monday to Friday during term time. Our expectation is that all wraparound provision is 8am-6pm.
With this in mind, we are wanting to arrange a meeting to start and create a Support Network for Out of School Clubs in the East Riding, where you can all come together to share your thoughts, feelings and ideas. We would like you to think about -
- Current challenges in your area
- How you might have overcome local issues
- Things that are working well
- How you have implemented changes
- Support you might need going forward
We have booked a room at Cottingham Parks Golf Club on Tuesday, 21 November 9.30 am to 11.30 am we have proposed a face to face meeting as we feel it will create better opportunities for practitioners to talk to each other and for us as advisors to listen to you, and continue to offer support.
To book a place please email: earlyyears.training@eastriding.gov.uk
