Autumn Term - Early Years
Public Health Briefing
We hope you have managed to take some time over the summer ahead of the Autumn Term, as we move into the start of a new academic year. Following recent increases in incidence and types of infectious/notifiable diseases reported it is key that all settings (including Childminders) continue to report cases through to the Education Public Health Team via the SharePoint system. Protecting the health and wellbeing of our settings and their communities is pivotal in maximising face-to-face learning, and mental health and wellbeing. Regular handwashing, ventilation, cleaning, and swift isolation are all vital in mitigating transmission of infectious/notifiable diseases.
Each setting should receive the Autumn Toolkit in the first week of September as we continue to improve and extend the support, we provide to settings by anticipating the challenges at this time of year. The autumn tool kit is a supportive document that should inform planning and action for the autumn and winter periods. It includes key public health items that will be relevant to staff, children, parents and stakeholders in settings. We encourage all settings to make time to read and share the information where appropriate.
We look forward to seeing you at the termly Public Health Briefing which can be accessed via the link below. This session will provide up-to-date information for settings, supporting planning and preparation for winter infections and outbreaks as well as environmental factors.

HERE For Schools
We are also running four webinars over the Autumn term designed to support settings. The links to and details of these are provided within the Autumn Toolkit which is also available on HERE For Schools.
Each setting should receive a login at the start of September to HERE For Schools. Please take the opportunity to take a look at HERE For Schools as it is a one-stop-shop for your public heath educational resources for infectious and notifiable diseases. You will find: ERYC guidance; CPD training; useful weblinks; Early Years Teaching Resources; Parental and staff letters for outbreaks and infection prevention control advice for educational settings. We would welcome your feedback on the portal so that we can continually develop it to meet your needs via cfsinfo@eastriding.gov.uk.
'HERE for Schools requires all users requesting a user account to first have a customer account set up for the organisation they work for. Once an account for the organisation is set up, we can then set up individual user accounts which will enable you to login to HERE for Schools and navigate through the system depending on your access rights.
We will set up a customer account for your organisation (please look out for the e-mail). If you enable us to set up a customer account for your organisation please would you supply to us the following information to set up an individual user- we would suggest a maximum of two logins per group setting and send to hereforschools@eastriding.gov.uk
